What Does XP Mean in Dansko Shoes?

Posted by Tatiana Robinson on

For those in the healthcare field, you most likely are already familiar with the infamous Dansko nursing clog. This distinct shoe is what you can see many nurses wearing through hospitals and nursing facilities. While many love it and are familiar with this shoe, we always get the question in our store what does ‘XP’ mean?  It simply stands for extra performance.  There are many features that make this a fantastic shoe for those professionals who are on their feet all day!

Dansko is now onto the XP 2.0 which is the newest version of the classic Dansko XP shoe. While it appears to be the same as the original XP at a glance, this shoe has been improved dramatically! The XP 2.0 sole provides more room in the toe box, preventing the toes from curling if the foot were to slide forward. The new XP 2.0 also provides an upgraded slip resistant rubber sole suitable for dry, wet, and oily/wet surfaces!

Dansko has definitely turned things up a notch with the XP 2.0.  The new construction is the lightest foot sole they have ever created for their XP offering with the weight being 3 ounces lighter than the original XP. The 2.0 provides a lighter feel to the wearer, and less of the “clunky” feel that some might have complained about in the past even though they wanted the support benefits of clogs. In addition, the shoe has a softer foot bed and a wider fit, allowing those who typically would not have been able to wear Dansko the opportunity to experience the benefits of foot support they can provide for someone on their feet all day!
